Privacy Policy

Your Privacy

My name is Catherine Poole and I run my intelligent transcription business as a one-person business. I am committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and will never misuse your personal details for any purposes.

My privacy policy explains how I collect and use data and how I keep this data safe and secure.

Types of Data I Collect

My website uses cookies to track visitors by way of Google Analytics, but I cannot identify individual visitors through this tracking process, so you can rest assured that your identity is safe and sound. I confirm that I do not make, nor do I allow Google to make, any attempt to identify individuals visiting my website.

Most web browsers will automatically accept cookies, but you can consult your browser’s ‘help’ function if you want to find out how to restrict or disable your browser’s handling of cookies.

Mailing Lists

I send out occasional e-newsletters, and part of the registration process for this involves collecting personal information in the form of names and email addresses. This information is used purely to send you information for which you have given consent, such as offers, news and information about my business and how I can help you. I promise never to pass your email address to any other organisation or business.

I use a third-party provider, MadMimi (owned by GoDaddy), to deliver my newsletter, and I use this to track statistics such as email opening and clicks in order to help me improve the information I’m sending out to subscribers. You can view their privacy policy for more information.

You can unsubscribe from my mailing list at any time by clicking on the link at the bottom of any email or by contacting me on catherine@catherinepoole.co.uk.

Third Parties

The work I undertake for clients is backed up by an online back-up system called IDrive, which is protected by the EU privacy shield. This is to protect against the event of system failure, so I can regain access to important files.

I keep files backed up for one year before deleting them, unless otherwise instructed by clients, for example, in the case of files containing sensitive personal information. These will be deleted on return to the client.

Please click here to see IDrive’s privacy policy.

I often share files with clients via the file hosting service, Dropbox. I do not store personal information in Dropbox.

Please click here to see Dropbox’s privacy policy.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that I hold. Please email me on catherine@catherinepoole.co.uk to make your request.

Changes to this privacy policy

This privacy policy was created on 21 May 2018 and I reserve the right to make changes as and when I see fit. I will always have the most up to date policy available to view on my website.
